Run Mira
Mira is open-source software that anyone may run. Researcher-collaborators are provided a ready-to-run copy — review the eligibility requirements to apply. Hosted access is for those who prefer to begin right away: a copy set up and maintained for you while the program is in development, with the fee covering hosting and setup rather than the software.
Research cloud credits (GCP) — the preferred way
If you're a PhD student or faculty member, apply for a Google Cloud research grant and bring it to Mira — there's no subscription and no markup. Qualifying is also an opening to work with Mira Methods as a collaborative researcher-developer: working with the Mira Methods team, you can help construct open-source language models calibrated for humanistic and social-scientific research, develop the Mira model harness, and help build transparent, scientific, auditable systems — so researchers benefit from computational advances while working collectively toward autonomy from for-profit providers.
- Google Cloud Research Credits — up to $1,000/year for PhD students, up to $5,000 for faculty-led projects. Eligibility and participating countries are set by Google: check whether you qualify.
- We help you get it: [email protected] will work with any interested PhD student or faculty member in the humanities and social sciences to secure the award — including writing the proposal.
- Also useful while you apply: the $300 Google Cloud trial and $200 DigitalOcean credit for new accounts.
